Tobyhanna Army Depot (Pennsylvania) To Lay Off 130 Contract Workers

Here is yet another story about cutbacks in the defense war industry. The citizensvoice.com has the details:
Tobyhanna Army Depot will lay off up to 130 contract workers starting next week.

Tobyhanna, the region's largest employer, cited decreasing work volumes in the announcement of the furloughs, which begin April 13.

The first layoffs will include up to 30 motor vehicle mechanics, sheet-metal workers and air-conditioning repairers, the depot reported.
Just imagine how many more of these stories we are going to see when the day finally comes that the federal government is forced into enacting real austerity measures.
