March Blogging Statistics: TDS Surges To A New Monthly Record

Just like the stock market, you can't keep the page view value of The Downward Spiral Blog down for long. After a minor dip in February, TDS surged to over 70,000 page views during March, topping January's all time record by more than 10,000. It was a fitting example of growth during a month in which the iconic DC area cherry blossoms bloomed two weeks earlier than they ever have before. Once again I am gratified and humbled that so many people choose to patronize TDS and help make it a success.

One development of note during March was that the blog became a place for former employees of two companies that experienced mass layoffs to comment about their situation. In the case of the post about Connexion Technologies in North Carolina, in fact, the comment section became like a message board. My heart goes out to those who lost their jobs in that instance from gross mismanagement if not actual malfeasance, and am glad I was albe to provide an outlet for your frustrations.

Also, as a reminder, the book version of TDS is available in print-on-demand form at the link right below the page view counter. I don't take donations for the blog because I really don't need the money, but if you want to show your support by more than just reading the site regularly buying a copy would be a great way to do it.

Cheers!

Bonus: One of my favorite songs from the past few years - "The Twist" by Frightened Rabbit

  2. I imagine your numbers may continue to climb. Word on the street is Connexion laid off 45 more folks today. Oh, and benefits will not be offered to anyone after 5/31...if they stay operational til then.
