I've never gone in there much, but a recent visit showed a half-empty store. I knew the company was doing poorly, but still I was surprised. A good third of the floor space was taken up with tables filled with DVDs for sale. Yet it clings to life; a "Store Closing" banner has not yet appeared.<br /><br />What is tragic to me is that when we first moved here 20 years ago, the place this store (along with a CVS, Chinese restaurant, and laundromat) occupies what was once a natural area of tall grass and several mature oaks. And this was along a busy thoroughfare, where some green provided a welcome break from commercial buildings.<br /><br />The Blockbuster will go, eventually, but the concrete and vacant ugly architecture will remain.Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09809202917469138601noreply@blogger.com
