What a trail of blood and gore we've left behind us. At the same time, I realize we are simply the last in a long, long line of such activity dating to well beyond recorded history. Doesn't mean I think it's OK. In old age, I've come to see the human animal as a violent, brutal animal that is dishonest to the depths of our soul. The more we scream how wonderful we are, the worse we are. And just for the sake of it, there are always long lines of mothers, daughters and wives screaming "go get em". There are no innocents in this game. These poor women and girls were...Such an existence. These poor women and girls were probably out at that hour gathering firewood because, of course, they shouldn’t be seen in the brightness of day. They get killed with little concern by our attacks- and they already live in unbelievably miserable conditions.

Women there get blamed for things like giving birth to girls (science is always hard for the devout- I guess they don’t know who is responsible for donating the y chromosome). And our forces are there, making the hideous situation even worse.

Try to imagine what this woman named Storai went through in her short 22 years.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/31/world/asia/afghan-kin-accused-of-killing-woman-who-failed-to-have-son.html?_r=1

And add to that our nation bombing them as they try to do the daily chores of life. It’s all so barbaric as to be inconceivable, and I’m talking about both civilizations. Such ragged disregard for decency.

Jim Laheyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12440909311757922295noreply@blogger.com
